Satdeh Soup

To celebrate Windrush Day, we are hosting a special Satdeh Soup celebration in Coalbrookdale, in association with Telford & Wrekin Council, Telford & Wrekin Interfaith Council and Telford African and Afro-Caribbean Resource Centre (TAARC).

Saturday Soup is one of the culinary traditions brought over to the UK from the Caribbean by members of the Windrush Generation. The Windrush community in Britain would get together on Saturdays and exchange stories over this traditional one-pot chicken, beef or vegetable soup.

This is your chance to come along and try some, made by Lola’s Kitchen (£5 per serving), as well as hearing music from Piranha Sound, and poetry and stories from the Caribbean.

Timings: From 12pm to 4pm

Date: Saturday 21 June

Location: Covered Bays (adjacent to Enginuity) in Coalbrookdale

Tickets: Free event (charges apply for food)
