There is parking at, or near to, each of the Museum sites and car parking charges apply at all sites.

It is possible to walk from one museum to another but the geography of the Gorge means there are some steep climbs. There are also sections of the route that don't have footpaths so some road-walking is necessary.

Parking information

We use Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) at all of our Museum-owned car parks. These include car parks at Blists Hill Victorian Town, Enginuity, Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron, Coalport China Museum and Jackfield Tile Museum.

We record the registration numbers of vehicles entering and leaving a site and calculate a charge based on the length of stay. The tariff is £1.50 per hour up to a maximum of £6. There is a 30 minute free period to allow pick-up & drop-off.

Where possible, we offer free Blue Badge parking. Please speak to our front of house team upon arrival.

PASS PLUS holders can park in any IGMT car park for free during their daytime visit. Simply show your PASS PLUS at the front desk when you arrive at any of our sites to receive a free parking voucher. T&Cs apply.

You can pay for parking with a debit/credit card at machines on-site or online within 48 hours of your visit.

All vehicles entering these car parks will be subject to charges including motorbikes, coaches & campervans. Blue Badge holders -  please ask at Front of House for how you can receive free parking when you visit.

Charges apply 24 hours a day except at Coalport China Museum where free overnight parking is available (6pm-8am).

Our car park charges are managed by Park with Ease. Park with Ease will enforce parking charges and will issue fixed penalty notices in the event of non-payment.

We welcome Motorhomes at most of our sites. Broseley Pipeworks only has a small car park, so is not suitable for Motorhomes. None of our car parks have height barriers.

Motorhomes can park over multiple bays, but we request that they respect other users and park as efficiently as possible, as some of our car parks have limited spaces.

Some of the roads around the Gorge are narrow and uneven, so care should be taken, however the roads are used by coaches and buses so should be suitable for most motorhomes.

Please note that local authority car parks in the Gorge charge for the number of bays used. Standard parking charges apply at Museum car parks.

Motorhomes can be parked in most Council car parks. Check local notices for details and advice.

The Demand Responsive Transport service, operated by Telford & Wrekin Council, connects the Ironbridge Gorge to Madeley and Telford Town Centre. Visitors can book their journey, which works on a point to point basis, using the Travel Telford On Demand app. This means, visitors can travel directly between two or more of our museums. Find out more
