Join us for a weekend of live graffiti art, the culmination of a project with students from Telford College and funded by Historic England.
Since early 2025, the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust has been working with a group of sixth-form students from Telford College on a project exploring the history of working people in the Ironbridge Gorge.
The entrepreneurs and ironmasters of the Ironbridge Gorge are famous while the stories of the working class people who worked for them are less well-known.
Thanks to funding from an Everyday Heritage Grant from Historic England, the Trust has given young people the opportunity to visit Blists Hill Victorian Town, Coalport China Museum and Jackfield Tile Museum to seek inspiration for three large-scale graffiti works they will produce telling the stories of the people of the Gorge. At this special weekend event the public and museum visitors will be able to see the young people at work producing their final pieces.
To coincide with this live art event, the Trust will also display works by local artists, including the painters and signwriters whose decorative work appears across Blists Hill Victorian Town. Caribbean food will also be available to buy, provided by Lola's Kitchen.
PASS PLUS holders and Friends of IGMT can park in our IGMT car park for free when attending this event by validating their PASS PLUS at the front desk when they arrive.
