A man in Victorian costume is driving a black and red steam engine alongside a wooded canal towpath. There is smoke coming from the brass chimney on the engine.

Steam in Miniature

  • 26th - 27th Jul 2025
  • 10am - 5pm
  • Blists Hill Victorian Town
  • Included with museum admission ticket

Join us at Blists Hill Victorian Town for this popular event to see the streets filled with steam and smoke as miniature steam engines roam around the town, giving an idea of what life would have been like for Victorian residents.

The day will be filled with a variety of steam activities, including stone crushing, road mending and firefighting.

The first of these events coincides with Trevithick Day, celebrating Richard Trevithick, who constructed the world's first steam railway locomotive, a replica of which is on display at Blists Hill.

PASS PLUS holders and Friends of IGMT can park in our IGMT car park for free when attending this event by validating their PASS PLUS at the front desk when they arrive.
