To celebrate Windrush Day, we are hosting a special Satdeh Soup celebration in Coalbrookdale, in association with Telford & Wrekin CouncilTelford & Wrekin Interfaith Council and Telford African and Afro-Caribbean Resource Centre (TAARC).

Saturday Soup is one of the culinary traditions brought over to the UK from the Caribbean by members of the Windrush Generation. The Windrush community in Britain would get together on Saturdays and exchange stories over this traditional one-pot chicken, beef or vegetable soup.

This is your chance to come along and try some, made by Lola’s Kitchen (£5 per serving), as well as hearing music from Piranha Sound, and poetry and stories from the Caribbean.

Suitable for age 5+. Children over 14 must be accompanied by an adult (18+).

Four one-hour sessions daily.

PASS PLUS holders and Friends of IGMT can park in our IGMT car park for free when attending this event by validating their PASS PLUS at the front desk when they arrive.
