Harold Mytum from the University of Liverpool explores how Coalbrookdale and other iron foundries across the country satisfied demand for churchyard memorials by developing designs using innovative materials such as cast iron.

Discover how, in the later 19th and early 20th centuries, the bereaved could express their loss in ways that combined mass production with individual memory.

This talk is part of IGMT’s ‘Twilight Tales’ series of talks, exploring the darker, stranger, and more unusual stories from history and our Collections.

Please note: There will be no refreshments available at the talk. There are toilets located within the Glass Classroom. We request that you park in the Enginuity car park, standard parking charges apply.
