FAQs - Parking

Due to limited on-site parking and our commitment to sustainability, we strongly encourage visitors to make use of the Park & Ride service.

On-site parking

A limited number of free Blue Badge spaces are available on-site. However, Blue Badge holders must pre-book their parking in advance when they buy their event ticket.

Anyone else who wishes to park on site will need to pre-pay for parking in advance when they buy their event ticket.

  • On-site parking at Blists Hill (this could be on any one of our three car parks) is £7 per car

Please note that:

  • No coach parking is available for groups at this event
  • Unlike during daytime visits, PASS PLUS holders must also pay £7 per car if they wish to park on site for this event

If you book on-site parking you will receive a separate ticket by post before the event. Please show this to the parking stewards upon arrival and display it in your car while it is on site.

Park and ride

Park & Ride offers a convenient, stress-free way to reach the museum while helping reduce traffic congestion and our environmental impact.

For Ghostly Gaslight we will be operating a free Arriva shuttle bus leaving from the Matheson House bus stop at Grange Central, Telford Town Centre every 5 minutes between 4pm and 7pm. The return buses will leave Blists Hill Victorian Town between 8pm and 10:30pm.

Visitors can leave their cars on the Telford Town Centre's Long Stay 1 multi-storey car park (access off Grange Central opposite Pure Gym). Charges apply.

Parking is paid on departure – please ensure you keep your ticket safe after arrival, as this will be required. Lost tickets may incur a surcharge.

FAQs - Event guidance

Yes! We love our guests to get into the Halloween spirit and you are encouraged to wear costumes

For the safety of all guests, full-face masks, full-face paint, imitation weapons and large props are prohibited

Any costumes deemed inappropriate could result in refused entry or guests being asked to leave without a refund. We encourage fun, not offence.

See our full guidelines here.

If you are under the age of 16, you must be accompanied by a full-paying adult (18+) throughout the evening.

If you are lucky enough to look under the age of 25 you will be asked to prove that you are aged 18 or over when purchasing alcohol.

Ghostly Gaslight is an immersive experience featuring special effects, smoke, lighting, darkness, loud noises, live actors and jump scares.

What scares one person may make another laugh. Whilst our event and actors do their best to scare you, we understand that being scared is completely subjective. We aim to make Ghostly Gaslight a great experience, whatever your emotion.

Throughout the whole event, you will encounter live actors, special effects, enclosed spaces and sudden noises. We advise that once you have entered an exhibit there can be no turning back – you must keep forward and follow the designated route to the exit.

FAQs - On-site facilities

The museum and its outlets accept both cash and card payments. An ATM is also available to withdraw cash.

The WM Bates Fish & Chip Shop, New Inn Pub, Forest Glen Refreshment Pavilion and entrance building coffee shop will all be open serving food and drink, and there will be additional street vendors around the site. Please be prepared to queue at peak times.

The Sunflower Room will be open and accessible for those who need it. Mobility scooters are not available for use during this event.

Ghostly Gaslight returns for a spine-tingling evening this Halloween, with Blists Hill transformed into a Victorian ghost town for a night of (frightening!) fun.

Creepy costumed characters will roam the darkened streets – cross their paths at your peril… But beware, as you won’t be any safer inside, with horrifying goings-on in the town’s exhibits.

The streets will be dressed (to kill…) for the scariest night of the year, promising a fright around every corner. Bring family and friends, dressed in your own best Halloween costumes, for a night of Victorian-inspired horror, hauntings and nightmarish goings-on.

This event features actors, loud noises and special effects to add to the fun and thrills. There is no age restriction, but parents should use their discretion to decide if it will be suitable for their child.

Antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated at IGMT events. Please read the Guidelines for enjoying Ghostly Gaslight before purchasing your ticket.
