Celebrating a Victorian Christmas at Blists Hill Victorian Town
- 3rd - 23rd Dec 2025
- 10am - 4pm
- Blists Hill Victorian Town
In the run-up to Christmas, step back to the Victorian era and discover the origins of the festive traditions we know and love today.
Around the town, streets and buildings will be decked with traditional decorations, and you and your family can take part in a variety of festive activities.
Any day of the week, kids can follow the 12 Days of Christmas trail (perfect for under 7s) or join the Christmas Carol trail (ideal for children aged 7+). Both trails (£2 each) include a present at the end. You and your family can also leave a Christmas wish on the wishing tree.
Every December weekend, the streets will come alive with characters from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens walking the town’s streets. You will also be able to make your own festive pomander to decorate your home, print a ‘Naughty or Nice’ Dickens-inspired poster in the Victorian printer’s, or write a letter to Father Christmas and seal it with wax (activities £2 each).
On 6-7 and 13-14 December, you can enjoy live festive music from choirs and brass bands and watch a dramatic retelling of A Christmas Carol and other Christmas stories in our special Victoria & Albert Playhouse.
Don’t forget to visit the toy shop pop-up in the Post Office sorting room and the Christmas gift emporium in the Boys Brigade Hall to find the perfect presents, then indulge in our special festive menu at the Forest Glen and other catering outlets, all available daily.
The festivities are included in your standard Blists Hill admission ticket and entrance is free for ALL SITES, PASS and PASS PLUS holders. Book your ticket in advance. Additional charges apply for some activities.
Please note that Blists Hill Victorian Town is open Wednesday to Sunday during term time in December, then Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 December. See our opening times for more details.
Please note that the festive experience at Blists Hill Victorian Town in 2025 is different to the Victorian Christmas Weekends you may have attended in previous years. Among other changes, there will be no Christmas grottos or Father Christmas. Keep up to date with the programme on our website.
