Travel bursary terms and conditions
- Grant applications will be assessed against a set of criteria and funds allocated based on a scoring system.
- Schools may apply for any amount up to a maximum of £500. Please supply a copy of a quote from a coach company with your application.
- Allocation of funds will be equal to the cost of your coach booking, up to a maximum of £500.
- Schools who use their own minibuses for transport may apply for the bursary, which will be paid at a rate of 45p per mile, up to a maximum of £500.
- Schools who are successful in being awarded a grant give consent for IGMT to use the name of the school in promotional materials/social media posts in relation to the bursary.
- You will be notified whether your application was successful within 10 working days of the deadline date. If unsuccessful you will be able to apply again in a different window.
- You do not need to have a confirmed booking with IGMT before applying for the Travel Bursary, but a confirmed booking must be made within two weeks of notification of being successful in your application.
- Once a booking has been made and confirmed the normal T&Cs for educational visits will apply (these are sent with the booking conformation).
- For applications in 2025, visits must be made by 31 December 2025.
- You can apply for the bursary in 2026 now. Those visits must be made by 31 July 2026.
- Payment of the bursary will take place after a museum visit has been completed and our invoice paid.
- A copy of the invoice from your chosen coach company must be provided before payment of the Travel Bursary will be made. Payment can be made directly to the coach company.
- Evaluation of our learning programme is very important to us and schools who visit must return the completed evaluation form provided.
