Guidelines for enjoying Fireworks Night

Alongside our usual Special Event Terms and Conditions and Terms of Entry, specific regulations apply to Fireworks Night to ensure the enjoyment of everyone attending. 

Ticket information

  • Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase. Only if the Event is cancelled by IGMT may you be offered the option to transfer your ticket to a future event or a refund on your tickets
  • PASS PLUS holders must show their card on entry to qualify for their discount

Event site access

We strive to ensure Blists Hill Victorian Town is as accessible as possible. However, please read the information below to find out more about access for this event:

  • The event takes place at night on uneven ground
  • We expect a high volume of attendees, making the event quite busy
  • Please understand that due to the event’s size, we are unable to accommodate special provisions for individuals
  • Please note that there is no designated area specifically for wheelchairs.
  • We do have a calm Sunflower room available for use

Appropriate behaviour

The event is produced for the enjoyment of all those persons who attend. We ask that visitors:

  • Be respectful to staff, volunteers, performers and other guests at all times
  • Do not touch performers, props, sets or exhibits
  • Refrain from aggressive behaviour, including yelling, pushing or foul language
  • Follow all instructions from museum staff and security guards promptly
  • Do not run or chase anyone

Any person who disrupts the event by engaging in any of these activities will be liable for eviction from the site. The decision as to the eviction will be at the discretion of the event manager and security staff. 

Persons will also be liable for eviction under the following circumstances:

  • Entering or being on site without a ticket

As well as unacceptable, disruptive or anti-social behaviour including:

  • Illegal activity
  • Breaching the terms and conditions of entry
  • Failing to submit to a search upon entry to the site
  • Climbing barriers/walls
  • Offensive behaviour
  • Throwing objects in the direction of people
  • Encouraging others to behave badly by incitement
  • Preventing our security or emergency services from reacting to a situation
  • Committing a criminal offence but not being arrested by the police
  • In possession of unlawful drugs
  • Unofficially selling alcohol, tobacco, counterfeit or any unauthorised goods
  • Any other behaviour that leaves the premises licence holder open to prosecution or is not conducive to maintaining a safe event.

Restricted items

The following items may not be brought into the event:

  • Alcohol
  • Unsealed liquids (empty bottles, water and soft drinks up to 500ml are permitted)
  • All gas canisters of any size, including nitrous oxide
  • Any items which may reasonably be considered for use as a weapon
  • Excessive amounts of cigarettes
  • Fireworks or sparklers
  • Flares
  • Drones
  • Glass
  • Illegal substances
  • Legal highs
  • Megaphones
  • Portable laser equipment and pens
  • Balloons or kites
  • Unauthorised professional film, video or photography equipment
