Heritage Open Days 2022

The Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust will be taking part in Heritage Open Days once again, with special activities taking place across our Coalbrookdale sites, free guided tours of Broseley Pipeworks and a curatorial talk at Coalport China Museum.

Broseley Pipeworks will be open for free guided tours on Saturday 10 September and Curator of Coalport China Museum, Kate Cadman, will host a free talk 'Alchemy: How Chemistry Meets Art In Ceramics' on Thursday 15 September.

On 17 & 18 September, Coalbrookdale’s Covered Bays will play host to a variety of demonstrations and activities, including clay pipe making, Lego workshops and china flower making. Enginuity’s car park will feature a living time line of vehicular innovation; a homage to Thomas Parker, the inventor of the electric car and resident of Coalbrookdale.

The Museum of Iron, Enginuity and Darby Houses will all be free to visit and our Senior Curator, Georgina Grant, will be hosting a drop in workshop to explore her Headley Fellowship research; which looks at the orders of the Coalbrookdale Company.
