Roof Tile Making Session
Each child hand-makes a roof tile using traditional tools and techniques from the 19th Century.
The tile is finished with a sand facing, nail holes and nibs and is then stamped with both the company brand and child’s initials.
Boxes printed with the Madeley Wood Company's name and drying & firing instructions are used to transport the bricks back to school.
The tiles are made from air-drying terracotta clay that need not (but can be) fired in a kiln.
