Join us for a talk by writer Averil Douglas Opperman on Friday 4th of January at 7pm.  Averil Douglas Opperman grew up in Dublin in a Quaker family and started her career as a journalist at the Irish Times during one of the most exciting times in the paper’s history.

Averil has since moved to the UK and continues to write on various subjects in a freelance capacity, she has also written an award-winning local history book.

Before the talk there is the option to explore Rosehill House with Averil Opperman and Senior Curator, Georgina Grant, before returning to the Engine Shop at the Museum of Iron for the lecture followed by a Q&A.
