Jackfield at 150

Join us at Jackfield Tile Museum for just £1.50 per person on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 February to help us celebrate the 150th anniversary of the opening of Craven Dunnill Tile Factory, now Jackfield Tile Museum.

Museum staff and volunteers will run special tours of the museum throughout the weekend, and staff from Craven Dunnill will run Tile Decorating Workshops in the afternoon (pre-booking required) for an extra charge.

Throughout the weekend our younger visitors can be inspired by our animal tile collections and recreate their own tile using recycled materials to take home.

The Footprint Gallery will also be hosting drawing activities for younger visitors on Saturday at 2pm-4pm.

Building history

In 1871 Henry Dunnill employed architect Charles Lynam to build a new, modern factory. A Broseley-based brick manufacturer called William Exley was given the construction contract and work began in 1871.

On 25 February 1874 a 'warehouse warming' celebration was held, featuring "speeches, refreshments, songs, ventriloquism, a lantern slide show and dancing until midnight".

Tickets: During this weekend only, entry to Jackfield Tile Museum will be £1.50 per person. Discounted tickets only available onsite. Free for PASS, PASS PLUS, Friends and Patrons.

PASS PLUS holders and Friends can park in our IGMT car park for free when attending this event by validating their PASS PLUS at the front desk when they arrive.
