Industrious Women
As part of the BBC Art that Made Us festival join us for a tour of Blists Hill Victorian Town exploring the important role the women of Shropshire played in industry during the 19th century.
Discover the stories of the feisty ‘Shroppies’ who toiled on the pit banks, learn about the trailblazing women who fought for their place in a man’s world, and find out how the Victorian era changed our ideas of women’s work forever.
This tour will last for approximately 90 minutes and takes place over even ground but will include a steep hill.
Whilst the tour is suitable for all ages, it is most suited to ages 12+.
This tour is included in the admission charge, but pre-booking is required. Please arrive at the Goods Shed at 11:55am ready to set off at 12.00pm.
