View of the Cast Iron Bridge
A full colour print of ‘View of the Cast Iron Bridge near Coalbrookdale’ by Michael Angelo Rooker 1743-1801 English painter, printmaker, and scenographer. Rooker was commissioned by Abraham Darby III to paint a picture of the Iron Bridge. This painting was later engraved by William Ellis in July 1782.
The engraving was dedicated by the Coalbrookdale Company to George III and celebrates the historical importance of this Ancient Monument. The original is held in the Elton Collection at the Ironbridge Gorge Museums. Dispatched in a postal tube.
