Michael Angelo Rooker 1743-1801 English painter, printmaker, and scenographer. Rooker was commissioned by Abraham Darby III to paint a picture of the Iron Bridge. This painting was later engraved by William Ellis in July 1782. The engraving was dedicated by the Coalbrookdale Company to George III and celebrates the historical importance of this Ancient Monument. The print is held in the Museum's own Art Collection.
