Join us at Coalport China Museum to recreate a Victorian workforce! Based on the 1901 census we want to make a figure to represent each of the 250 people who worked at the Coalport China Works at the time.
Visitors can choose an individual worker with a name, age and specific job and then make a relief plaque representing them. By the end of the summer we hope to have represented every man, woman, girl and boy who worked at Coalport in 1901. A certificate will be given to each participant to acknowledge their contribution to the exhibition. There is no charge to create a Victorian worker.
Over the summer there will also be clay modelling workshops on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays (£2 per person + extra for firing) and mug painting sessions on Thursdays and Fridays (£4 per person + £2.50 P&P)
Drop-in sessions are Monday – Friday 11am-1pm & 2pm-4pm. Activities vary from day to day and carry additional charges. Museum admission charges apply.
