Experience the everyday life of Coalbrookdale's Quaker ironmasters in the former homes of the Darby family - Rosehill House and Dale House.
From their doorsteps you will get a grandstand view of the restored Furnace Pool which once helped power the ironworks. Step inside the houses and you will discover rooms packed with original family furniture, china, mementos, costumes and family papers.
A highlight of our 300th anniversary celebrations is this exhibition of artistic responses to the changing scale of the iron industry. Works by William Williams from the 1770s will be on display including his famous picture of the Iron Bridge commissioned by its builder, Abraham Darby III.
Over the weekend of 25 and 26 July the Coalbrookdale site will be alive with activity as visitors can watch spectacular iron-casting demonstrations, enjoy fun science experiments, chat to experts about the amazing history of the area and even have the chance to get hands-on.
*Activities and demonstrations vary from day to day and some activities carry an additional cost. Call 01952 884391 to check what is happening.
