Christmas decorations at Coalport China Museum

Christmas Craft Workshops at Ironbridge Valley of Invention

Visitors to the Ironbridge Valley of Invention can exercise their creative flair this festive season, as the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust hosts a number of Christmas themed craft workshops across all of it's museums.

The museum's popular Tile Decorating Workshops will return with a winter twist, as visitors are encouraged to take inspiration from seasonal stories whilst using the traditional technique of tube-lining to decorate their very own ceramic tile. With various dates throughout November and December, the workshops are expected to fill up quickly, so those wishing to attend should secure their pre-booked space as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Those looking for something a little more challenging can take part in Jackfield's Christmas Ceramic Decoration Workshops, using the same tube lining technique to decorate a set of six unique festive shapes, on 9, 16 & 18 November.

Coalport China Museum will also be getting involved in the advent activities, with it's own Christmas Ceramic Decoration Workshops taking place on 18 & 25 November. Over the two days, participants will make and decorate their own Christmas decorations using clay - and some tips and tricks from our talented demonstrators!

The team at Coalport will also be holding a Flower Making Masterclass on Friday 2 December, with visitors also able to try their hand at making a piece of "Coalbrookdaleware".

So, if you're in the mood for a creative Christmas, then book your place on one of these amazing workshops and get your festive season started!
