The Ironbridge Gorge Museums - 10 Family Friendly Museums

Families will love a day out at the Ironbridge Gorge Museums. Our 10 family friendly museums tell the fascinating story of this area's extraordinary history and reveal the secrets of its industrial past.

What to See

Blists Hill

Blists Hill Victorian Town

For a real time travel experience this summer, you can't beat a visit to Blists Hill. Kids adore buying traditional sweets with old fashioned coins, riding on the fairground and taking a trip on the horse and cart. The pigs and chickens are always firm favourites along with dipping a candle or playing with the Victorian toys during the school holidays.

Creative Workshops

Coalport China Museum

The beautiful riverside buildings that were once home to the Coalport China Factory are now filled with the finest examples of the company's work. Get creative during the summer holidays and have-a-go at a ceramic workshop.

Creative Workshops

Jackfield Tile Museum

At Jackfield Tile Museum explore the magnificent displays of cermaic tiles; wander around a country church and walk through a tube station. During the school summer holidays you can even try your hand at tile decorating in our drop-in workshops.

Enginuity

Enginuity

Hands-on, feet-on, full-on! Enginuity is a ‘must visit’ on any family day out. Children can play with huge interactives such as the Giant X-ray machine and during school holidays, join in design and build challenges and watch fun interactive science shows.
