Every conceivable form of steam-powered transport is cartooned by Heath in the foreground of this picture, including even a steam horse.  But Heath also envisages the utilisation of other forms of power and new technologies to render travel faster and more direct.  For instace a direct vacuum link with India, a long-span bridge to South Africa, and the harnessing of fish power.
