Women at Coalport
Women and girls were employed at the Coalport China Works from its early days in the late 1790s until the closure of the Works at Coalport in 1926. Girls started work as apprentices as young as 13 but often left after a few years when they married or went to other jobs. However some women were employed Coalport for most of their lives.
