Many Coalport artists painted in a stylised Sevres style. The most famous artist of the time was probably John Randall, who painted Sevres Birds as shown on this vase. Randall was a keen geologist, journalist and local historian and following his death at the age of one hundred, he became known as Shropshire's Grand Old Man.
