The technical and artisitic improvements made under new management at Coalport were reflected by the 1893 Chicago World Fair. Coalport's exhibits were very well received, one commentator observing that this lamp with mock agate panels appeared 'identical with the natural object'. The fair helped to boost the valuable American and Canadian markets for Coalport.
