The Lily pattern, shown here on a dessert centre dish dating from c1790, was a popular design at the time. It was produced by many English manufacturers from about the 1770s and was probably based on an Oriental design. The pattern is often referred to as the Royal Lily or Queen Charlotte pattern because it was favoured by Queen Charlotte when she visited the city of Worcester in 1788. This piece was made in about 1790.
