The Zollverein (a customs union of German states) sent over 1,500 exhibitors, and occupied a space very nearly equal to that of France. In the centre of this view is one of the most famous pieces in the Exhibition by Professor Kiss of Berlin, The Amazon, copied from a group of figures cast in bronze in 1839, and on display outside the Royal Museum, Berlin.
