Projects

Our unique location and history enables us to provide a specialist service for industrial archaeology, brownfield sites, urban archaeology and historic building recording. We have extensive experience in recording, interpreting and understanding the complex archaeology of the post medieval period and of the Industrial Revolution.

Some of our most interesting recent projects are highlighted below.

Wednesbury Forge, Sandwell
A forge in operation since the sixteenth century. Large-scale redevelopment of the entire site required extensive evaluation.

The Iron Bridge, Shropshire
The world's first Iron Bridge was recorded in detail for the first time, providing new information about its fabrication and erection.

Edgbaston Mill, Birmingham
A manorial corn mill since the middle ages, an excavation in advance of development found one of the two water wheels and evidence for button making.
