Ironbridge Archaeology is committed to improving access to all its collections. Uniquely amongst departments of Museum, our entire collection is accessible to visitors with mobility disabilities. A major overhaul of our physical storage space is currently underway, with a view to improving conditions. This will provide a unique environment for the storage of archaeological material.

The archaeology collections contain all material from all excavations undertaken within the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage site. We also house the National Slag Collection, an internationally-important collection of metallurgical residues from sites of all periods throughout the UK.

More information will be available soon, including a downloadable catalogue of the contents of the stores and archives.
