Ironbridge Archaeology is the archaeology unit of the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust. Based in Coalbrookdale, the historic core of both the original Coalbrookdale Company and the present-day Museum, we specialise in historical archaeology and the archaeology of industrialisation.
We are proud of our 20-year track record of archaeological fieldwork within the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site and throughout the UK. We have made a number of significant contributions to archaeological research over the years, and to developments in field methods and practice.
Our specialised team bring a full range of archaeological services to bear on each of our projects - consultancy, desk-based research, field evaluation and excavation, landscape survey, historic building recording and heritage management advice. All clients large and small receive the same quality of service.
We also have an extensive programme of publication, training and outreach. Some of this is undertaken in conjunction with academic partners, such as the University of Birmingham, the University of Bristol, and Wilfrid Laurier University ; we also work closely with the Museum's own Education Department in bringing archaeology to schools. |
